Begin your hiking adventure with pickup at your hotel in Nadi and a scenic ride. As you drive, listen to your guides talk about the 'off-the-beaten-path' areas of Fiji, through which you'll begin to understand more about daily life in this island nation. Sights include sugar cane farms, beaches, and the village settlements. Some exciting off-road driving is in store as well. The drive takes about an hour total, and your guides will stop at a local supermarket in case you want to buy snacks and water.
Hit the trail head and head off through the forest, looking out for plants used in traditional island medicine and other species that are highly poisonous. Your turnaround point is a waterfall, where you're welcome to take a dip and cool off.
Arrive at a village for lunch in the home of a local family. Over traditional Fijian food, learn about their daily life and the challenges they face living so far from community resources like public transportation and grocery stores.
At the conclusion of your activity, you'll be dropped off back at your accommodation in Nadi.
