Rovaniemi: 4-7 km Self-Drive Husky Sled Through the Forest

Feel the speed of huskies in the silent, snowy forest. Two adults share one sled and during the safari, you can change the driver. Suitable for children of all ages.
We welcome you to experience a thrilling ride along the forest trail with huskies that were born to run!

The trail length is between 4 – 7km and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, depending on the weather conditions and speed of the group.

The huskies are ready and waiting to meet you, becoming excited to show you their favorite trail through the beautiful, frozen forest.

Before you set off, our experienced guide will give you detailed instructions on how to handle the sled, how to use the brake to speed up and slow down and also and tell you all about the dogs and their history as part of the Lappish culture.

You will get chance to take control of the sled, standing at the back and driving the dogs. Enjoy the journey as the dogs eagerly pull you along the scenic path, where you will feel the frosty air rushing past your face and hear the patter of paws in front of you, as they work together to get you to the destination. There is a chance to stop around half way, so you can swap drivers and take some photos with the dogs and sled.

The beautiful, winding trail will take you through both forested and more open areas. You will get chance to see the stunning snow-covered landscape in this idyllic rural location.

There will also be time for you to pet the huskies and get to know their individual personalities and role within the pack. You can take as many pictures as you like with the dogs, who are more than happy to receive your attention!

You will also be provided with a hot drink and small snack.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
