Description
Explore Helsinki’s LGBTQ+ history, culture, and nightlife on a guided walking tour. Discover hidden stories, iconic spots, and local insights in a fun and informative walking tour
See Helsinki from a fun LGBTQ+ angle on this relaxed walking tour full of stories, history, and local vibes.
We’ll walk in the city center and talk about how things used to be very different in Finland, and how the country slowly became one of the most open and equal places today. Visiting the beautiful house of the estates, we´ll find a link to see how gay people actually lived in Finland during the Swedish era.
We´ll visit Helsinki Cathedral and Uspenski Cathedral to learn how LGBTQ+ friendly each one is.
Along the way, you’ll get to know some famous Finnish artists who helped shape queer culture in Finland —some in quiet, creative ways and others in bold, world-famous style.
We’ll end the tour in a gay sauna to learn about Finnish sauna culture (yes, it’s a big deal here!) and how it connects to everyday life, social rules, and LGBTQ+ spaces.
This tour is easy, friendly, and open to everyone—whether you’re LGBTQ+ or just curious and want to see a different side of Helsinki.
