Treat yourself to a one-of-a-kind, authentic experience. With this break, far from the crowds and close to the winemaker, you'll understand why Christmas is so dear to the Alsatians.
On the wine route:
Right in the heart of Alsace, between Riquewihr and Kaysersberg, this wine town on the Wine Route was almost completely destroyed during the Colmar pocket battles (December 1944 - January 1945).
Today, Mittelwihr is one of the top spots in the Alsatian vineyards: the village has a microclimate that's earned it the nickname 'Midi de l'Alsace' This climate lets almond trees bloom every year between two rows of vines, on the Mandelberg hill ("almond hill"), where the Grands Crus of the same name thrive.

Cellar tour
To get a feel for what a winemaker does, what's better than checking out their cellar? From harvesting to boxing, the behind-the-scenes work will no longer be a secret to you. As you wander through the different buildings, you'll get to check out the equipment and the winemaker's lab, where they juggle the roles of mechanic, oenologist, cellar master, and more, all in one day!

Show 'Christmas of Yesteryear in Alsace'
Delphine, the winemaker's wife, will take you on a journey to the Christmases of yesteryear, the ones her grandma, her 'Mamama', experienced when she was a kid.
On the table, a small package catches my eye. I open it and the magical moments my Mamama used to talk about at Christmas time when I was little come flooding back.
It's through her child's eyes, her gourmet and sparkling memories, that I take you to discover this warm celebration, bringing special flavors to our beautiful Alsace.
Mixing tales and legends, popular and traditional songs, this show in French will also let you hear a few words in Alsatian. Check out the video clip from the show below
