Description

Experience the city of Reims during a morning tour. Discover the UNESCO-classified cellars of the Champagne House Pommery, and the authenticity of a family-run winery in the countryside.
Meet your local guide near Reims center train station and start the day with the discovery of Reims city center by minivan.

Drive by “Notre Dame de Reims”, one of the first monuments to be registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover some emblematic places of the city, such as the “Porte de Mars”, a 2000-year-old arch, and the last Roman gate of the city. Absorb the historical atmosphere of the city, home of the coronation of the kings of France.

Make the most of your morning in the Champagne region, starting with the exploration of the famous House of Champagne Pommery, with a complete tour of their cellars which are classified as UNESCO World’s Heritage. Finish in style this visit with two champagne tastings.

Have a break at a viewpoint on the elegant Montagne de Reims vineyards, where your guide points out the particularities of the region: Why are our vines planted on hillsides? Why is our subsoil made from such pure chalk? Why does champagne only come from the Champagne region?

End your morning by discovering a family-run winery. Tour the still-used-today traditional press and vat room as your guide details the traditional Champagne method with a concrete and visual approach. Appreciate several tastings of their own production and acquire tasting knowledge and expertise with these rare champagnes.

Your morning tour ends in front of Reims center train station.
