Description

Pontius the boatman and his lantern guide you to discover the troubled souls of the streets of Lyon – their true stories, often tragic or surprising, which unfold throughout history.
The boatmen who, for two millennia, have hauled every stone and every beam in the city, have many stories to tell... It is one of them, Pontius, who claims to have lived for two thousand years, who will introduce you to them.

The tour starts in Place Saint-Paul and covers part of Vieux-Lyon, then crosses the Saône without ever straying too far from the quays. Great figures such as Nostradamus, Maître Philippe, and Laurent Mourguet are mentioned, as well as anonymous and humble people whose stories have marked the ancient chronicles.

Pontius is your live guide with his lantern, whose colors vary according to the scents of the spirits of the place...

…Share a little of the experience of those who have not found rest and still wander among us, revealed to the initiated when night falls!
Lift a corner of the veil that covers the city of secrets. Ghosts and mysteries await you!

Note: Some descriptions may be upsetting for the faint of heart. The tour is not recommended for young children.
Wear sensible footwear. There are very few stairs on the route.
Duration: approximately 1 hour 45 minutes
