Description

Water march! This tour follows Roman bathing culture through the centuries – from ancient thermal baths to the Moselle. A city tour off the beaten track. Includes interior tour of the Imperial Baths.
Trier and water – a connection steeped in history. On this extraordinary city tour, you will explore the development of bathing culture from antiquity to the 20th century. Along the old Roman main road, the Decumanus, the tour leads off the beaten track through the city center – always following the trail of water.

Three UNESCO World Heritage Sites are on the program: the imposing Imperial Baths, the Barbara Baths with their well-preserved hypocausts, and the Roman bridge, which is over 2,000 years old. Beginning with an exciting tour of the interior of the Imperial Baths, you will immerse yourself in Roman bathing culture – from technology to everyday life.

The route continues along the former aqueduct through the green belt of avenues, past the TUFA, Neustraße, and the synagogue. At the Barbara Baths, you will learn how Roman baths were heated – a true masterpiece of ancient engineering. The tour concludes with a view of the Roman Bridge and the Moselle – because bathing in the river was once part of everyday life. The tour ends atmospherically at the cranes.
