Have a superb day out exploring the island of Kefalonia, whose beauty you'll recognize from the film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin"! In bus and boat, see the natural landscapes of this island including caves, mountains, and beaches.
Guests will be picked up from their resorts to connect with the ferry boat from the port of Agios Nikolaos, Skinari.
At the start of the tour you will see the Venetian castle of St George's as we pass by. This was the capital of Kefalonia until the end of the 17th Century.
First stop will be the monastery of St. Gerassimos, the patron of the Island who was known for his miraculous abilities to cure people with mental illness. The monastery is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Kefalonia and is situated under the imposing Mount Ainos.
Next we head to the impressive Drogarati Cave, located outside of Sami, with its fine stalactites & stalagmites. Experts estimate that the cave is about 150 million years old.
Continuing on to Melissani Lake and Cave. Take a short boat trip on the lake located within the cave and experience the fantastic colors of the water as the sunlight is reflected through the open roof.
Our next stop will be at the town of Aghia Efimia. You will have time here for lunch, a stroll or souvenir shopping. After we drive towards Argostoli along the west coast of the island and have a short photo stop at the viewpoint overlooking Myrtos Beach. This is followed by a short break in Argostoli for a nice stroll around the square.
The ferry boat departs Kefalonia at 18.00 and arrives back in Zakynthos at approx. 19.45. You will then be transferred back to your resort.

• Pickup can begin up to 1.5-hours before the tour's departure
• Please note that the entrance fees for Drogorati Cave is €5 and Melissani Lake is €8 (optional)(prices may change)
• There are 118 steps at Drogorati Cave to walk down and up again, so comfortable walking shoes are required
• Changes to the itinerary are at the guide's discretion
• Wear attire that covers the shoulders and knees so you can enter the monastery

Pickup is available from various pickup points in the resorts of Agios Sostis, Lagana, Kalamaki, Argassi, Tsilivi, Tragaki, Alykanas, and Alykes. After providing details of your accommodation, you will receive an email from the local supplier with your exact pickup point (make sure to check your junk mail folder). This location may not be directly from your hotel, but from the nearest pickup point instead.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
