Description
An exclusive trip that will take you to explore the ancient wonders and breathtaking landscapes of the region, discovering its rich history and ancestral culture.
Pick-up will be between 6:30 and 7:00 am at your hotel, and once the group is complete, we will depart for the north.
The first stop will be the picturesque village of Chinchero, known for its textile center. There we will see the agricultural terraces, the remains of the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui, the beautiful colonial temple built on an Inca structure, and the entire wool process, from washing to spinning into beautiful textiles.
Continuing on the tour, we will arrive at the famous circular terraces of Moray, where we will see several natural pits that were used for agricultural experimentation during the Inca period. This archaeological site was of great importance to the Incas.
Next, we will visit the Maras Salt Mines, where you can observe the salt extraction process, which dates back to Inca times. Known by some as "salt mines," these salt flats are composed of approximately 3,000 salt wells, built on the Kachi Qata mountain with Inca architecture.
The next destination will be the Ollantaytambo Fortress, a fortress built to protect access to this part of the valley and defend it from invasions by the inhabitants of the jungle. After this tour, we will return by bus to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch.
After lunch, we will head to the town of Pisac to visit the Pisac Archaeological Complex, built during the time of Inca Pachacuteq. Strategically located on top of a mountain, it offers a panoramic view of the valley that stretched to the Antisuyo. The tour will end with the return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 pm.
