Description

Discover Hondarribia at your own pace with a private sightseeing tour of this Basque town, its walled historic center, its colorful streets, and its fishing district, with unique views of the Txingudi bay.
We will meet at Arma Plaza, a military point located in the heart of the historic city center, to begin this guided visit of Hondarribia.

A journey through time will reveal the town's past history and the tense confrontations between the military and civilian powers that took place around us. We'll visit places closely linked to its wartime past, such as the Castle of Emperor Charles V, now converted into a Parador de Turismo, and the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and of the Apple Tree, the town's emblem.

We'll start with a pleasant walk to Plaza Gipuzkoa, one of the most visited places, and then we'll walk along Nagusia Kalea, the town's former main street. Here we'll discover the houses and palaces of the most important families in the history of Hondarribia, as well as the Casa Ladrón de Guevara, the Casa Iriarte, the Palacio Zuloaga, the Palacio Casadevante, and the Casa Consistorial.

The layout of the old town bears witness to its medieval past, with narrow cobbled streets and its wall, with the gates that are still preserved today: the Puerta de Santa María and the Puerta de San Nicolás. We'll be amazed by the iconic Baluarte de la Reina, strategically located.

We can't leave without visiting the La Marina neighborhood, one of the city's most iconic spots thanks to its unique maritime atmosphere. We will understand why it is part of the vital and main axis of daily life in Hondarribia.

Speaking of the sea and its stories, it will be time to end our sightseeing tour, but we do have a beautiful panoramic view prepared as a grand finale.
