This is one of our most popular day tours! Thórsmörk, the valley of the Thunder God Thor, is a popular hiking area that sits amongst three sparkling ice caps, Mýrdalsjökull, Tindfjallajökull, and Eyjafjallajökull. Thórsmörk is a unique area and our guides know it like the back of their hand.
Sights here include Gígjökull, where powerful glacial floods escaped during the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption. Our local guides will vividly tell you much about this eruption, including stories only locals know about.
Transport is in our specially adapted super jeeps that can readily handle rough terrain and cross un-bridged rivers. Along the way, short hikes are always an option to truly feel the pull and tug of the landscape.

The tour departs at 10:00 AM from the Midgard Base Camp. Swing by a little earlier for a nice cup of coffee.
We can also pick you up at your accommodation in the area from 09:45 AM to 10:15 AM (depending on your location).
Please note: After June 1, the departure time is 9:00 AM.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
