Mount Rinjani Trek: Senaru to Torean - 3 Days, 2 Nights

Embark on a spectacular 3-day, 2-night trekking adventure up Mount Rinjani, starting from the lush Senaru village and concluding via the dramatic Torean route. This itinerary focuses on experiencing the breathtaking Segara Anak crater lake and the natural thermal hot springs without tackling the summit, making it ideal for those seeking stunning views and a challenging, scenic traverse.

Day 1: Senaru to Senaru Crater Rim (Plawangan Senaru)
Your journey begins in Senaru, traversing dense tropical rainforest. The first day is a challenging yet rewarding ascent, offering diverse flora and fauna along the way. After approximately 6-7 hours of trekking, you will reach the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m). Here, you will be rewarded with a mesmerizing panoramic view of the majestic Segara Anak lake, the active cone of Mount Barujari nestled within the caldera, and a magnificent sunset over the Gili Islands and Mount Agung in Bali. Spend the night camping under a canopy of stars.

Day 2: Crater Rim to Segara Anak Lake and Propok Camp
Wake up to a glorious sunrise before descending steeply for 2-3 hours to the caldera floor, reaching Segara Anak Lake (2,008m). The lake is a serene, mystical sight. Take time to relax and soothe tired muscles in the nearby natural Hot Springs (Air Panas) known for their healing properties. After a rejuvenating break and lunch by the lake, the trek continues towards the start of the Torean trail, setting up camp for the second night at the Propok Camp area, nestled in a scenic valley.

Day 3: Descent via the Torean Route to Torean Village
The final day is a long, highly scenic descent through the less-frequented Torean Valley. Often referred to as Rinjani's "hidden paradise," this route is characterized by spectacular geology, including towering "Jurassic cliffs," deep river valleys, and refreshing waterfalls like Penimbungan Waterfall. The trail is predominantly downhill and passes through beautiful tropical forest. After an estimated 5-7 hours, you will emerge from the wilderness in Torean Village, concluding your unforgettable Rinjani traverse with a transfer back to your next destination. This route offers a unique perspective, showcasing Rinjani's diverse and dramatic landscapes.
