Description
Exploring and tasting spices from Indonesia—including one with a distinct aroma: coffee.
Istiqlal Mosque
The mosque was built between 1961 and 1978, with Frederick Silaban serving as its architect. A Catholic born in North Sumatra, he designed the mosque to accommodate 200,000 worshippers. Its two domes symbolize Indonesia's independence.
Jakarta Cathedral
One of the building materials used is red brick, which was brought directly from the Netherlands. The church was established in 1901 in the Neo-Gothic style.
Instagrammable place
This Instagrammable spot is a popular destination in central Jakarta, located right next to one of the city’s well-known shopping areas. I will take you to the second floor—known as the "sky deck"—where you can snap plenty of photos to capture the moment.
Coffee Market
I will take you to Pasar Santa using public transportation—specifically the bus rapid transit system known as TransJakarta. This mode of transport is very straightforward and largely avoids traffic congestion, as it utilizes a dedicated lane reserved exclusively for buses.
At this market, you can purchase all varieties of coffee found in Indonesia. Currently, *Kopi Luwak* (civet coffee) is a popular choice. You can also sample the different types of coffee before buying some to take home as souvenirs.
