Description

Enjoy the best views in Yogyakarta on this 2-day tour. We'll explore Borobudur and Prambanan temples, witness the stunning sunrise above the volcano from the Kali Adem bunker, and visit Jomblang Cave.
Day 1

Head to the volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. Here, you'll ride a classic jeep. The first stop is the Kali Adem bunker, the closest point allowed to view the volcano.

If the sky is clear, you'll see continuous smoke coming out of the crater. After that, head to a small museum that houses collections of evidence of the damage caused by the volcano eruption.

Then, we'll go to Borobudur. The temple was built in the 8th century by King Samaratungga.

The construction of the temple aimed to glorify the Mahayana Buddhist religion. Borobudur was once abandoned.

In 1814, Borobudur was rediscovered by the British Governor-General, Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles.

After touring the temple complex, we'll return to the hotel, and the first day of the tour will end at your hotel around noon.

Day 2

You will be picked up at 7 am from the hotel and head to Jomblang Cave. It is a vertical cave due to geological processes.

Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave that requires special equipment to descend and explore. You will witness a phenomenon called 'Heaven's Light.'

Sunlight enters the cave and illuminates the flowstone. The beauty of 'Heaven's Light' can only be enjoyed at specific times, with the best time in Jomblang Cave being around 10 am when the sun shines directly into the mouth of the cave.

To explore Jomblang Cave, you will use provided vertical caving equipment and be guided by experienced licensed cave guides.

Next, we head to Prambanan Temple.

This Hindu temple was built by the Sanjaya dynasty king, King Balitung Maha Sambu.

The Prambanan Temple complex faces east. The complex itself consists of three Trimurti temples: Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. The temple follows a mandala pattern, and the towering structure is a characteristic feature of Hindu architecture.
