Exploring the southern slope of the highest active volcano in Europe, a slope in continuous change and transformation, the current site of all the recent eruptive events of Etna.
Climb the highest active volcano in Europe with an Alpine Guide. Explore the summit craters, explore a lava channel and the Valle del Bove.
Meeting with our guides at the offices located in Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza in front of the Etna South cable car station. After the cable car, you will travel through lunar landscapes on board a 4x4 up to an altitude of 2920 meters in the Torre del Filosofo area.
Start your trek until you reach the edge of the Central Crater at 3300 and enjoy the 360° views and weather permitting, it will be possible to see the Aeolian Islands and all of northern and eastern Sicily.
Once you have descended from the summit craters, the itinerary includes crossing the craters of the 2002 eruption, then walking inside a lava tunnel and admiring the volcanic amphitheater of the Valle del Bove, a spectacular caldera 7 km long and 4 km wide. Return by 4x4 and cable car to the starting point.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
