Description

Take in the views of the Amalfi coast from Villa Cimbrone, and visit the villages of Amalfi and Positano in a day-long tour full of gorgeous natural landscapes and architecture.
Start your day off with a visit to Villa Cimbrone. With its immense gardens and dreamlike views, this villa offers the most memorable view of the Amalfi Coast. In the distance, you can admire the profile of the Cilento Mountains and next to it, the plain on which the ancient city of Paestum was built. The main path, Viale dell'Immenso, includes a pergola, which is most noticeable in summer with the white and blue of the wisteria in full bloom. The gardens themselves are adorned with temples and statues that confer a classic touch. On your way through the gardens, you will see: The Statue of Ceres, The Poggio of Mercury, Temple of Bacco, Eve Cave, a copy of the Statue of David, Roses Terrace, and the "Tea Room", a rectangular garden next to the rose garden that includes a Moorish style gazebo.

After this visit and a break, in the afternoon your guide will drive you to Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast is known for being the land of the orange blossoms and lemon trees, the saltiness of the marvelous beaches and the wildest Mediterranean scrub, all arranged in a vertical manner, together with the houses overlooking the sea and hidden in the maze of picturesque alleys. The first town you will visit will be Amalfi, the town that gives its name to the Costiera, which is located at the mouth of the Valle dei Mulini. It looks like a cluster of white houses, clinging to the rock and connected by covered alleys and stairways. At the center of the main square dominates the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea with the spectacular staircase, the bell tower in Arab-Norman style and the suggestive Cloister of Paradise.

Then, you will enjoy the town of Positano, one of the most famous places on the Amalfi Coast, known for its winding staircases and the whitewashed houses that follow the natural course of the mountains, creating a vertical landscape. Appreciated by artists and jet-setters since the early post-war period, the town is famous for the production of leather sandals and cotton and linen clothes, for the beautiful 19th and 20th century buildings and postcard landscapes.
