Description

Walk through ancient Jaffa's excavations and alleys, then continue into Neve Tzedek and the UNESCO-listed White City. One guided route linking archaeology, legends and Bauhaus architecture.
This walking tour connects two neighborhoods that together explain how Tel Aviv began.

We meet outside the Abulafia Bakery on Yefet Street in Old Jaffa, one of the oldest port cities in the Mediterranean. From here we walk into the alleys of Old Jaffa, passing the Jaffa Clock Tower before reaching Kikar Kdumim, where excavations reveal layers of the ancient port city beneath the modern streets. We continue on to the House of Simon the Tanner and up to Abrasha Park, with its views over the coastline.

From Jaffa we walk north into Neve Tzedek, the first Jewish neighborhood built outside the old city walls. Along Rothschild Boulevard and through the neighborhood's restored lanes, we see how a small nineteenth-century settlement grew into a modern city built on new ideas about light, space and urban life. A stop at the Gutman Museum brings the story of the young Tel Aviv to life through art.

The tour ends near the Old Tel Aviv Railway Station, HaTachana, where the city's first railway once connected Jaffa to the wider world — a fitting place to close a walk spanning thousands of years of history.
