We have had the pleasure of introducing Japanese calligraphy to many people from around the world.In addition to teaching how to write and how to use the tools, I also share the fascinating stories behind Japanese charact .

The Japanese language uses three types of scripts: Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana.Kanji are ideographic characters—each one is like a picture, filled with deep meaning.Hiragana and Katakana are phonetic scripts, beautifully flowing forms created by the Japanese people based on Chinese characters.

Each script reflects the spirit of Japanese culture and aesthetics.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Calligraphy tools such as brushes and ink traditionally contain animal-derived materials.
There is a bus stop nearby, served by the Kanazawa Loop Bus.

  • Learn brush techniques and practice with guide sheets.
  • Your final work is on washi paper and comes in a display holder.
  • In summer, customize a fan or folding fan with your calligraphy.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
