Explore Kakuozan, an area of Nagoya rich in culture and history, on a guided tour. Visit the Furukawa Art Museum, see the Tamesaburo Memorial Museum, and enjoy Kodo (Incense Ceremony) at This unique cultural practice allows participants to "listen" to fragrances and gain a deeper understanding of Japanese aesthetics.. Explore the Kakuozan shopping street and visit the Nittai-ji and Sooji temples.
Meet your guide at the Furukawa Art Museum and begin with a guided tour of the museum's key exhibits. Next, take a short walk to the Tamesaburo Memorial Museum and enjoy a guided tour.
Afterward, experience Kodo (Incense Ceremony). Then, take a short walk to the Kakuozan shopping street and enjoy lunch at a local eatery recommended by your guide.
After lunch (*lunch fee is not included in the tour fee), visit the Nittai-ji Temple, a temple built to enshrine the Buddha's relics and gilded bronze statue sent from Thailand. It is the only temple in Japan not affiliated with any specific Buddhist sect.
Next, visit the Yokiso Garden, which features a blend of Japanese and Western-style buildings, a tea room for sencha, and a bridge with famous ceiling paintings.
Finally, visit the Sououji Temple, the family temple of the Tokugawa clan. It features a stage modeled after Kyoto's Kiyomizu-dera Temple, offering stunning views from the temple grounds.
