It is a relic of a crater in Noboribetsu City of Hokkaido and adjacent to Lake Touyako It was formed about 10,000 years ago. There is still a place with a diameter of about 450 meters. Jigokudani is so named because it is like being in hell.(Departure every season including winter)
Oyunuma Pond is the remains of a burst crater formed by the eruption of Mt. Hiwa. The bottom of the pond spews a sulphur spring of about 130 degrees. It is the source of hot spring water for major hot spring hotels in Noboribetsu. There is an observation deck here, you can see the steaming lake in front of you and walk to the lake to feel it up close. Walking around the lake, in addition to smelling the smell of sulfur, you can also see the source of hot springs that are smoking and foaming at any time, especially the yellow spherical sulfur floating on the lake is particularly conspicuous. Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch(about 60 minutes): On December 28, Showa 18 (1943), a strong earthquake occurred near Mount Usu on the shore of Lake Touyako. The result was a volcanic eruption that caused the ground to rise rapidly to form a high mountain. The volcanic activity lasted until September 10, the 20th year of the Showa era (1945). There were 17 more active volcanic activities during the two-year period. To commemorate this phenomenon of volcanic activity, the new volcanic mountain with an elevation of 398 meters was designated as a special natural monument in 1957 and named Showa Shinzan. It is still a growing ""new mountain"", and white smoke can be seen constantly erupting from the reddish-brown mountains.
The Bear Ranch, located near the entrance of the Showa Shinzan Cable Car, houses about 100 pure-bred Hokkaido brown bears. Brown bears are the largest wild mammals in Hokkaido.You can feed Brown bears in the bear ranch. The bears who see the food will stand up and wave to tourists. They are very cute and naive.It is said that the horse oil here is very good. Adults (middle school students and above) JP¥850 children (6 years old and above) JP¥500, at your own expenses.
Eight Views of Lake Touyako. You can get close contact with the beautiful view(10 minutes):Touyako is a freshwater lake in southwestern Hokkaido. Caldera Lake. About 10 kilometers in diameter, nearly circular, with an area of 70.72 square kilometers. 50 kilometers in circumference. The deepest point is 180.0 meters. The average water depth is 117.0 meters. The water storage capacity is 8.19 cubic kilometers. The lake is 84 meters above sea level. The northernmost limit of an unfrozen lake in Japan.
Lake Touyako Observatory(10 minutes):

Every winter around February, Otaru in the northern country will be in the season of snow drifting for thousands of miles. On the Otaru Canal, glass floats (floating balls) that used to be tied to fishing nets will float. Candles are lit in the floating balls.
