Description

Paint your own glass Kaga wind chime inside a 100-year-old Kanazawa machiya filled with over 150 chimes. Choose your colors and paper strip, then take home your one-of-a-kind souvenir.
Step inside a Kanazawa machiya more than 100 years old, and discover a rare gallery filled with over 150 wind chimes from Ishikawa, across Japan, and around the world.

Choose your colors and design, then paint the inside of a clear glass Kaga wind chime. Friendly workshop staff will demonstrate each step, making the experience suitable for beginners and travelers who do not consider themselves artistic.

After painting your design, select a decorative paper strip and assemble the final parts of your wind chime. Listen as your finished creation produces its first gentle sound among the many chimes hanging throughout the historic townhouse.

Rather than simply buying a souvenir, create something personal that reflects your memories of Kanazawa. Your finished wind chime will be carefully wrapped and ready to take home on the same day.

The workshop is located in Kanazawa’s Teramachi area, within walking distance of Myoryuji, also known as the Ninja Temple, and the Nishi Chaya District, making it easy to include in a day of sightseeing.
