Step off the tourist trail and explore the heart of Nara through a privately guided local experience. This half-day tour takes you from the bustling center of Nara to the peaceful town of Gojo, introducing you to the region’s rich traditions, flavors, and hidden cultural gems along the way.

We begin near Nara Station and make our way to a historic sake brewery, where you'll taste locally brewed sake and learn about Japan’s centuries-old fermentation techniques. The journey continues with stops at charming temples nestled away from the crowds, offering quiet moments to connect with the spiritual heritage of the area. Throughout the tour, you’ll sample traditional regional snacks and get a deeper understanding of local food culture.

The tour ends near Gojo Station or at a partner accommodation, ideal for guests staying overnight in the area. This is a private, slow-paced walking experience, conducted in English, and designed for couples, families, or small groups who want an authentic connection with Japan’s lesser-known side.
