Description

Discover the beauty of Amanohashidate, Ine Bay, and Nariaiji Temple on a guided tour. Enjoy panoramic views, a cable car or chairlift ride, a sightseeing cruise, and a stroll through Ine village.
Begin your journey with a visit to Nariaiji Temple, one of the 33 temples on the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage route. Nestled high in the mountains above Amanohashidate, this sacred site offers not only spiritual serenity but also stunning panoramic views of the famous sandbar below. The temple is known for its beautiful wooden pagoda and its connection to wishes for safe childbirth and good fortune.

Next, head to Kasamatsu Park, another scenic viewpoint where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Amanohashidate, often described as one of Japan’s “Three Most Scenic Views.” From here, the sandbar appears like a “bridge to heaven.” Don’t forget to try the traditional matanozoki pose—bending over and looking at the view between your legs—to see the sandbar as if it were rising to the sky.

After taking in the scenery, descend the mountain via the cable car or chairlift, a relaxing ride that lets you feel as if your worries are melting away with each meter.

Then it’s time for lunch at a local restaurant where you can enjoy fresh local seafood from the Sea of Japan, and a dedicated vegetarian set menu is also available.

In the afternoon, visit Ine Bay, famous for its traditional funaya (boat houses) that line the shore. Board a sightseeing cruise to view the bay from the water and even feed the local seagulls.

After the boat ride, head up to a viewpoint for a sweeping look over the entire bay—an ideal spot for photos.

Finally, step into Ine village itself to stroll among the boat houses and experience the quiet charm of this unique fishing community up close.
