Want to try origami since you are in Japan? We offer an introductory origami workshop in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. Solo travelers, families with kids and large tour groups are all welcome!
The host is from a historic neighborhood in Tokyo and she studied about traditional Japanese culture at school. This is an introductory origami workshop, making the best of the host's cultural expertise and origami skills. She shares not only origami skills, but also history, stories and meanings behind the shapes.
We are flexible to accommodate all visitors, from solo travelers, families with kids and large tour groups.
For solo visitors and groups up to 4 people, we will meet up at a cafe in Ryogoku neighborhood. It is known for its photogenic parfaits, a variety of drinks and the stylish interior.
For larger number of participants including big tour groups, we will reserve a spacious meeting room. We will be using a camera, screen, monitors and projector so that everyone can easiliy see the host's hands making origami.
The host will first show you 8 shapes which are different in skill levels. You will be asked to pick ones that you are interested in. We usually make 4-6 shapes in one session with a group of 2-4.
We will prepare various kinds of traditional and modern origami paper with beautiful designs. You will enjoy picking one sheet out of our collection, which you think would best suit each shape.
Even if you don't have any previous origami experince, we will help you to complete 3-5 shapes. The host goes step by step, making sure that no one will be left behind and encouraging guests to interrupt her anytime when they need help.
Feel free to take selfies with your works and send them to your loved ones back home - they will love it.

The venue is a cafe named "Cafe & Dining Cocoha".
When you arrive early, please make sure to tell the staff that you come under the reservation made by "Watanabe", as they secured a table for us.
If you would like to order something before the host arrives, please kindly note that we can cover only soft drinks up to 550yen including tax.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
