Begin your adventure with a hike from the staging area to the top of the canyon. Once you reach the top, gear up with ice cleats, crampons, harnesses, helmets, and all the technical rope rappelling equipment you’ll need. Your guide will assist and teach you how to descend the various fun sections of the canyon.
With guided rappels, playful slides, and stunning scenery, this unique experience is perfect for beginners, families, and seasoned canyon explorers alike. Discover a thrilling, family-friendly winter adventure located just outside Canmore and a short 25min drive from Banff.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The activity is family-friendly and suitable for beginners.
The canyon is located just outside Canmore AB, about 25 min east of Banff.
The hike to the top of the canyon takes approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes.
The meeting spot is the Macgillivray Canyon Parking lot. You will see our marked vans and pop canyoning Sign

NOT INCLUDED
  • It is recommended that participants Dress appropriately for the weather, this includes proper warm winter footwear, layers, a winter jacket as well as gloves and a warm hat. Marino or fleece under-layers are recommended.
  • The following is a good suggestion of what to bring for the trip:
  • Good winter boots with proper grip
  • A proper winter jacket
  • Additional warm layers (optional but good for people who get cold easy, Fleece or Wool)
  • Warm socks
  • Good winter gloves
  • Some water and some snacks

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
