Embark on a 3-day safari adventure from Nairobi. Explore Samburu National Reserve, hike Mount Kenya, and cross the equator.
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu
Depart Nairobi at 6:30 AM and drive for 2.5 hours to Nanyuki town. Stop at the equator crossing, an imaginary line that divides the earth into two hemispheres. Take a photo at the big sign marking the equator. On a clear day, catch a glimpse of Mount Kenya.
Continue to Samburu and check in to your lodge. After lunch, relax and then head out for an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Spend the night at Samburu Sopa Lodge or a similar accommodation.
Day 2: Samburu National Reserve to Mount Kenya National Park
After breakfast, go on a morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Return to the lodge for a hot buffet lunch. Then, drive to Nanyuki, arriving in the late afternoon. Spend the night at Kongoni Nanyuki or a similar accommodation.
Day 3: Mount Kenya to Nairobi
After breakfast, head to Mount Kenya through Sirimon Gate. Begin a 3.5-hour hike through forest, bamboo, rosewood, and heather zones to Old Moses Camp at 3,300 meters. Gain 740 meters on the ascent and begin to truly acclimatize. The forest and bamboo are home to hundreds of buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks, and a plethora of bird species.
Hike a little higher, about 1 km from Old Moses Camp to 3,600 meters, to see two Mount Kenya peaks – Nelion and Batian – next to each other. After taking pictures, descend back to Old Moses Camp for a picnic lunch. After lunch, descend for 9 km (1.5 hours) to Sirimon Gate, where you’ll meet your driver guide and transfer back to Nairobi, arriving around 6:00 PM.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
