Description

Explore the Chalbi Desert and Lake Turkana on a 4-day expedition from Nairobi. Visit Marsabit National Park, Kalacha Oasis, and Loiyangalani, and meet the Gabra and El Molo tribes.
Embark on a 4-day expedition through Kenya’s wild northern frontier. Begin your journey in Nairobi, traveling through scenic highlands to Marsabit National Park, a green oasis amid volcanic craters. Enjoy an evening game drive at Lake Paradise or a nature walk before dinner.

On day two, descend into the Chalbi Desert, one of Africa’s most dramatic landscapes. Cross vast salt flats and dunes, with mirages stretching endlessly under the desert sun. Arrive at Kalacha Oasis, a palm-fringed paradise home to the Gabra people. Spend the evening by a campfire, stargazing under the desert sky.

On day three, drive through arid escarpments to Loiyangalani, “The Place of Many Winds.” Visit the El Molo Village, Kenya’s smallest tribe, and learn about their unique way of life. Take an optional short boat ride on Lake Turkana, famous for its turquoise waters and volcanic backdrop. Enjoy evening sundowners by the lake.

On the final day, depart early, retracing the scenic route through South Horr and Samburu plains. Enjoy lunch en route before arriving in Nairobi by evening.
