Embark on a full-day safari to Ol Pejeta Conservancy from Nairobi. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and see the last two northern white rhinos on Earth.
Begin your adventure with pickup from your hotel in Nairobi. Leave the city behind and drive north through lush highlands and rural farmland, with stunning views of Mount Kenya on a clear day.
Upon arrival at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, your guide will handle park formalities while you prepare for your first game drive. Set off on a thrilling game drive across diverse landscapes. Your guide will help you spot and identify wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, lions, and more.
If lucky, you may see elusive leopards or cheetahs stalking prey across the open plains. Ol Pejeta is also home to a healthy population of African wild dogs and more than 300 bird species.
Head to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees. Operated in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute, the sanctuary provides lifelong care to orphaned and abused chimps from Central Africa. Walk along a raised boardwalk to observe these intelligent primates in their large, forested enclosures while learning about their stories and personalities.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at Morani’s Restaurant, located inside the conservancy. Dine on a variety of local and international dishes while overlooking the scenic plains. Alternatively, you can opt for a picnic lunch in a shaded, secure area within the park—perfect for travelers who want to maximize game viewing time.
After lunch, embark on your second game drive. Visit the Endangered Species Enclosure, home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth—Najin and Fatu—under 24-hour armed guard. This area also shelters endangered Grevy’s zebras and Jackson’s hartebeest.
As the sun begins its descent, it’s time to say goodbye to the conservancy and begin the scenic drive back to Nairobi, passing by tea and coffee plantations along the way.
