Start your day with an early pickup from your hotel in Nairobi at 5:30 AM after an early breakfast. Head towards Mount Kenya National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, due in part to its importance as an area of great scenic beauty. The drive takes about 3-4 hours, passing through scenic landscapes and towns like Thika, Karatina, and Nyeri.
Arrive at the Naro Moru Gate, check-in for the hike, and head out. The hike includes beautiful landscapes, passing through lush forests, and bamboo zones, and eventually reaching the Met Station. Hike through rainforests up the mountain with your knowledgeable guide who will tell you about the flora and fauna surrounding you.
This Park is inhabited by elephants, black-and-white colobus, monkeys, and Cape buffalos. You'll also catch sight of some beautiful birds. At approximately noon, reach the Meteorological Station and start to head back down the mountain through the bamboo forest.
At around 2:00 PM, arrive back at the Naro Moru gate and enjoy a well-deserved packed lunch. Finally, take the 3-hour drive back to Nairobi.
