Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park
Start your adventure with a pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi. Drive to Tsavo West National Park and pass through the Nairobi-Mombasa Road. Admire the scenery in the eastern part of Kenya and spot wild animals on the way.
After a 5-hour drive, arrive at Voi town and head straight to the Tsavo West National Park main gate. Do a game drive en route to the Taita Hills Resort and Spa for lunch. After lunch, drive to the Saltlick Safari Lodge and check in.
Depart for a game viewing drive and return to the lodge for a buffet dinner with a stunning view overlooking the floodlit waterhole.
Day 2: Taita Hills Game Sanctuary
Spend the whole day exploring the vast Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. This private sanctuary is located right next to Tsavo West, so it’s an easy hop to get here. The landscape in this park is more verdant than Tsavo, and the game viewing is every bit as good.
The sanctuary offers good bird watching but that isn’t Taita Hills’ main attraction. A unique aspect of this small park is the rangers here usually have a very good idea where the larger animals can be found. It’s not unheard of for safari-goers to spot over a dozen species on a game drive.
Day 3: Tsavo West National Park to Nairobi
Enjoy an early morning breakfast at 7:00 AM and embark on an en route game drive as you catch a glimpse of the sunrise on your way back to Nairobi.
