Begin your day outside the National Theatre in central San José, where you’ll meet your certified local guide and board a comfortable private minibus. Travel into Costa Rica’s highlands while learning about the landscapes and communities along the route.
At Irazú Volcano National Park, walk through the dramatic high-altitude scenery as your guide explains the volcano’s craters, geology, elevation, and unique ecosystem. The route then descends to Cartago, Costa Rica’s former colonial capital. Explore its history, architecture, faith, and everyday life while passing the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels.
Pause at a local restaurant for an included lunch before continuing into the Orosí Valley. Walk through the village of Orosí and visit one of Costa Rica’s oldest colonial churches while discovering the area’s coffee culture and local traditions.

The itinerary order may change because of weather, traffic, or park conditions. Irazú Volcano reaches 3,432 meters above sea level and can be cold, windy, or rainy. Bring a jacket, closed-toe shoes, water, sunscreen, and your own raincoat, poncho, or umbrella. Rain gear is not provided. Lunch and the national park entrance ticket are included; additional food and drinks are at your own expense
Meet outside the National Theatre in central San José. Please arrive 15 minutes before the 7:00 AM departure and look for your Eco City Tours guide.

Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
