Suminagashi is a Japanese water painting technique used to create abstract, fluid patterns on the surface of water, which are then transferred to paper. The word "suminagashi" literally means "floating ink" and refers to the process of applying ink to patterns on water which, due to its surface tension, melts into calm, undulating patterns.
The Suminagashi experience is therefore more than just a painting technique – it is a meditative process that involves attention, patience, a sense of rhythm and flow. Some artists and people who practice this technique describe it as a way to connect with nature and inner peace, because the whole process is very contemplative and requires concentration, but also openness to unexpected results.

No prior painting experience is required. Be careful about clothes that you wear, because there is a possibility of getting dirty with ink.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
