IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Review: Port Louis is a busy city that can be a little intimidating if you’re not a local. Fortunately, our driver got us safely and professionally through the traffic and passed us off to our tour guide, Adrien. As we strolled the avenues, Adrien taught us a bit of the area’s history and culture. I was especially interested in hearing the history of the country’s Chinese immigrants while surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the more exotic-feeling China Town. The tour was punctuated by numerous stops to sample street foods and local restaurants. Two of my favorites were sampling fresh duck, and the roti and fruit juice! A perfect refreshment in the sunny weather. We were full (and sleepy!) afterward, which wasn’t a problem since our driver met us and whisked us back to our hotel without any bother. I’d recommend this tour to anyone who might want a more gentle introduction to some of Port Louis’s hidden culinary delights. - Vivica M.
