Description
Immerse yourself in nature with this eco-friendly excursion in Ventanilla, where adventure and conservation come together.
Explore the coast of Oaxaca by visiting the community of Ventanilla,
famous for its lagoon. This small town is
located an hour and a half from the bays of Huatulco. This place
is known for its strong commitment to protecting
the ecosystem, including mangroves, crocodiles, birds, and
other native species such as iguanas and white-tailed deer. Upon arrival at this community, we will walk
approximately 15 minutes to board an
ecological rowboat. During the
tour of the Ventanilla lagoon, you will have the
opportunity to observe the incredible
biodiversity of the area up close, mainly crocodiles in
their natural habitat. We will stop at a small
island where you will have the opportunity to visit a UMA
(environmental management unit), learn about the
conservation work they do, visit the crocodile museum, and
taste traditional snacks in a natural setting (cost not included in the tour).
After this fascinating experience, we will transfer
to the La Escobilla Ecotourism Center, where you will be part of a
magical moment releasing baby sea turtles onto
the beach. Local guides will explain the importance of this conservation project and teach you the proper way to release the turtles. You can even name your baby turtle and accompany it as it begins its journey to the Pacific Ocean.
