Meet your host at a fixed point near the market. After a short briefing, you'll receive a paper list of 6-8 ingredients, written only in Romanian, no phone required (you're welcome to hand it to your host for the duration, entirely optional). You'll also get a sealed envelope with translations and photos of each item, to be opened only once, only if you're truly stuck.
Then you're on your own. Point, guess, gesture, ask, haggle a little, use every trick you have to track down each item, speaking directly with the vendors, the way shoppers have done here for generations. Your host stays discreetly in the background, checking in at 2-3 prearranged points, but never leading the search.
Once your basket is full, meet your host again to show off your haul and relive the funniest mix-ups and trickiest words. That's where the experience ends, no kitchen, no meal, just the pride of having done it yourself, in a language you don't speak, in a market that doesn't wait for tourists.

The market is busiest early in the morning, so the activity starts at a calmer time of day. The experience is designed for 1-6 participants to keep the quest personal.
Meet your host at the main entrance of Piața Centrală (Chișinău's Central Market) on Strada Mitropolit Varlaam, just outside the market gates, not inside. Your host will be holding a small sign with your name and will be easy to spot.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
