Description

Wilderness Brown Bear Viewing by Floatplane. Once in a lifetime Alaskan adventures take place at Pack Creek Brown Bear Sanctuary!
Experience the world renowned Pack Creek Bear Viewing located 30 air miles outside of Juneau, on Admiralty Island National Monument. Get picked up almost anywhere in Juneau, including the Cruise Ship area. Enjoy a sightseeing floatplane ride to and from Pack Creek bear viewing area. Once you have landed and made your way to the shore your expert local guide will introduce you to the amazing wilderness location of the Pack Creek Bear Preserve.

'Ursos Arctos Terriblis', sometimes called the North American Grizzly, though around here we refer to them as Brown Bears. Pack Creek offers a natural estuary and tidal flat that contains habitat for early season foraging and mating behavior, and then later in the summer several different species of salmon run up the stream creating great fishing opportunities for the bears. You will be escorted by some of the most experienced bear guides in SouthEast Alaska, each of our wildlife guides has over ten years watching successive generations of bears at Pack Creek

The native Tlingit people call this impressive island “Kootznoowoo,” meaning “Fortress of the Bear.” Indeed, Admiralty Island is home to the highest concentration of brown bears in the world. Nearly 100 miles long, with 700 miles of saltwater shoreline that encompass its roughly 1 million acres, this verdant gem of old-growth rainforest graces the northern part of the Southeast Alaskan panhandle’s Inside Passage.

At the conclusion of the trip you will take another scenic flight back to Juneau and we will return you in the van to where we picked you up.
