Begin your adventure at the Phulbari Gate, the entrance to the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. Embark on a moderate trek through a lush forest to Jamacho Peak. The round trip is about 10 km, takes 4-6 hours of hike with rest and drive make 7 hrs in total , and includes a visit to the historic Jamacho Gumba (monastery).
Follow a mix of forest paths and stone steps, primarily an uphill and downhill trail following the same route. Walk through a dense forest of pine, rhododendron, and oak with bird songs and views from the summit. Keep an eye out for various species of mammals and birds.
Reach Jamacho Gumba, a site significant to local Buddhists and Hindus, with a history tied to the philosopher Nagarjuna. Enjoy scenic views of the Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayas, making it ideal for those seeking a mix of nature and spiritual culture close to the city.

The starting point is about a 15-20 minute drive from Thamel, Kathmandu.
This is a day hike only. No accommodation is included.
This is an all-local experience. Lunch will be served at a local, non-tourist restaurant with simple Nepali food.
After booking the hike, please share your hotel name and address in Kathmandu as soon as possible so we can coordinate the meeting point and pickup arrangements.

Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
