This day hike that combines culture, spirituality, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery, this off-the-beaten approx. A 20 km loop around Pokhara is a perfect choice. The journey starts early in the morning, right from your hotel, where we walk down to Barahi Ghat and board a traditional boat. A peaceful ride across Phewa Lake takes us to the iconic Tal Barahi Temple, one of Pokhara’s spiritual landmarks. As the morning light reflects on the water with Annapurna in the backdrop, it feels like the perfect start to an adventure.

After crossing the lake, the trail gradually climbs to the World Peace Pagoda at 1,100 meters. Built by Japanese monks, this stupa symbolizes harmony and offers a stunning vantage point of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Phewa Lake, and Pokhara Valley. The peaceful surroundings here invite both reflection and awe as you soak in the majestic Himalayan panorama.

From the Pagoda, the trail follows a ridge with constant views of the lake and mountains until reaching the towering Shiva Statue at 1,350 meters. Here, you’ll not only admire the giant sculpture but also learn about the local beliefs tied to Lord Shiva while enjoying sweeping vistas of the surrounding valleys.

We then continue to Bhumdikot, a beautiful Gurung village perched at 1,550 meters. This part of the hike is a real cultural highlight—offering insight into traditional homes, rural lifestyles, and warm local hospitality. It’s also the perfect place to stop for a hearty lunch while gazing at Annapurna’s snowy peaks.

The final leg of the hike descends towards Lauruk, winding through villages and forested trails, before we take a short taxi ride back to Pokhara, wrapping up a fulfilling day of adventure.
