The Ghorepani-Poon Hill Short Trek is comparatively a very short (2 days) trek available from Pokhara, Nepal. The package has been designed to suit the needs of all kinds of travelers in a rush. The journey begins from the beautiful city of Pokhara and drive towards Ulleri via Birethanti. The trail then passes through Banthanti, Nagethanti and Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a modern Magar village with guest houses. Additionally, the village will be the first vantage point for an up close view of Annapurna South & Dhaulagiri.

Ghorepani
Ghorepani is a modern magar village in Myagdi District of north-central Nepal. It lies 17 kilometers from the district capital of Beni at an elevation of approximately 2850 m /9350 ft. However, the village lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP), require permit to visit. It also contains a number of guest houses that provide lodging and fooding to travelers. Many trekkers spend the night here. They then trek to the top of nearby Poon Hill (3210 m / 10531 ft) the next day to watch the sunrise.

Rhododendron Forest
The trek also highlights the path along the famous Rhododendron forest. The trail is a soothing experience to one’s eye during the spring while the flower blooms in its full glory. There are many species of Rhododendron (Lali Gurans) found in Nepal. It is thus also selected as the national flower of Nepal. Nonetheless, a very large genus of about 1024 species of woody plants in the heath family (Ericaceae) blooms here with bright multi colors.

The return trip to Pokhara
After your visit to Poon Hill, the travelers take a return journey to Ulleri and drive back to Pokhara.

Travel Itinerary :

Day 1 : Drive to Ulleri & trek to Ghorepani (Max Altitude: 2850 m / 9350 ft)
On the first day of your trip, you will take a two hour early morning drive to Ulleri , the start point of your trek. You will then hike for 4-5 hours towards Ghorepani via Banthanti and Nagethnati . Ghorepani will be your halt for the night.

Accommodation: Mountain Guest House
Meals: Lunch and Dinner

Day 2 : Trek to Poon Hill and drive back to Pokhara (Max Altitude: 3210 m / 10532 ft)
On day two you will take an early morning hike to Poon Hill. The hike will take you two hours. Here you will be enjoying the mesmerizing view of a sunrise with majestic mountains in the foreground.
The journey will now return back to Ulleri with a 2-3 hours trek. You will then take a two hour drive back to Pokhara. Here you will bid final farewell to your guide.

Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
