Dresden, also known as the Florence of the Elbe, is one of the most historic cities in Europe. The Baroque and Augustan eras under Augustus the Strong still shape the city's look today. Experience an unforgettable tour and let Count Julius Maximus von Baumann guide you through the historic old town. You'll learn cool facts about the Baroque era and hear fun stories about the people who shaped Dresden.
The tour kicks off at the Friedrich August the Just monument on Schlossplatz, surrounded by the Residenzschloss, Hofkirche, and Oberlandesgericht. From there, you'll pass the Procession of Princes into the Palace Stables, then head to the Frauenkirche and the Coselpalais, before the path takes you up to the Brühlsche Terrasse. A quick stop at the famous thumbprint of Augustus the Strong and the porcelain monument of Johann Friedrich Böttger wraps up this part. As you stroll along the Elbe on the old fortress wall, you'll get an amazing view of the old and new towns.
After that, we'll pass the Albertinum and the Art Academy on our way to the Hofkirche and Augustusbrücke. After a quick stop at the Semperoper, the tour takes you through the stunning Zwinger to the Residenzschloss and Taschenbergpalais. Finally, you'll pass the Jüdenhof and head through the Georgentor back to where you started the tour.
The tour is a great experience for anyone visiting Dresden, but it's especially fun for history and culture buffs and school groups. After the tour, you'll have time to snap some souvenir photos with the Count - all included in the price and easy to take with your own mobile device.
