Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. After a short briefing, begin the journey north along the Kampala–Gulu Highway through Uganda's picturesque countryside. As you travel, enjoy views of rural villages, traditional homesteads, lush farmlands, and rolling landscapes while your guide shares insights into Uganda's culture, history, and wildlife.

Upon arrival, receive a welcome briefing from the sanctuary rangers covering rhino conservation efforts in Uganda, safety guidelines, trekking procedures, and wildlife etiquette. Learn about the successful reintroduction of southern white rhinos and the sanctuary's important role in restoring Uganda's Big Five wildlife heritage.

Set off on foot with experienced ranger guides in search of the sanctuary's resident rhinos. This remarkable walking safari offers a close yet safe encounter with these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. Along the trek, your guide will explain rhino behavior and social structure, feeding habits, conservation challenges, anti-poaching initiatives, and the history of rhino conservation in Uganda.

You may also encounter other wildlife including Uganda kob, oribi, bushbuck, warthogs, vervet monkeys, and numerous bird species. The trekking experience typically lasts 1½ to 2 hours, depending on the rhinos' location.

After the trek, take time to relax at the visitor center, browse the souvenir shop, and capture memorable photographs of your experience. Your guide will be happy to answer any additional questions about Uganda's wildlife and conservation efforts.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at the sanctuary restaurant or a nearby lodge. Meal options include traditional Ugandan dishes, continental cuisine, vegetarian selections, and refreshing beverages.
