Begin your journey at the historic Kabaka's Palace, the official residence of the King of the Buganda Kingdom. Learn about the fascinating history, traditions, and resilience of one of Africa's oldest kingdoms.
While still at the Kabaka's Palace, enter the famous Idd Amin's torture chambers, where thousands of Ugandans lost their lives in the early 1970s. See the remains of Idi Amin's cannon, the remains of previous kings' Rolls-Royces, and more.
End your tour at the palace with a simple demonstration of bark-cloth making and food preparation in Uganda. Then, continue along the Royal Mile, an important ceremonial road lined with cultural significance. Take a walk on the Royal Mile, which is surrounded by sculptures of totems that represent the clan system in the Buganda Kingdom.
After a Royal Mile walk, visit the oldest parliament in East and Central Africa, the Buganda Parliament, where you will get deeper insight into the kingdom's governance and contemporary role in Ugandan society.
To complete the experience, visit the famous Wakaliwood film studio, a home of low-budget action filmmaking that has gained international recognition. Meet the local creatives, discover how these unique films are produced, and experience a different side of Kampala's vibrant culture.
