Discover the beauty of Muscat after dark on a guided tour. Visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the Royal Opera House, and the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts. Explore the Mutrah Souq and take in the views of the city from a scenic mountain viewpoint.

Start your tour with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of Muscat's most iconic structures. While you won't be able to enter at night, the mosque's exterior is impressive after dark. The large prayer hall, surrounded by well-manicured gardens, glows under soft lighting, and the intricate Islamic architecture can be captured beautifully in photographs. The mosque’s grand dome and towering minarets provide a stunning focal point for your evening shots.

Next, head to the Royal Opera House Muscat, a magnificent example of Omani architecture. The Royal Opera House is particularly captivating in the evening when its grand façade is beautifully lit up. Spend time appreciating the intricate design, the traditional elements mixed with modern luxury, and take some photographs of the exterior and surrounding areas. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of performers arriving for an evening show.

After the Opera House, head to a local Omani sweet shop for a taste of traditional Omani desserts. Oman is known for its delicious sweets such as halwa (a gelatinous, spiced confection) and baklava (sweet, nut-filled pastries). Many sweet shops in Muscat offer a variety of these delicacies, so stop by to buy some treats to take home or simply enjoy them while exploring the city. Don’t forget to snap a picture of these colorful, tempting sweets.

Continuing your exploration, visit the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts, located on either side of Muscat's harbor. These forts are beautifully lit at night, providing an incredible opportunity for photography. Capture their ancient, imposing structures as they overlook the Arabian Sea. Both forts have historical significance and were key to Muscat’s defense in centuries past. While you can’t enter the forts at night, the views from the outside are spectacular, and their silhouette against the night sky is perfect for photos.

From the forts, head to the Al Alam Palace, the ceremonial palace of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The palace, with its striking blend of blue and gold color scheme, looks stunning at night. Though you can only view the palace from the outside, it’s worth stopping for a photo of the grand gates and the surrounding gardens. The palace is nestled between the Al Mirani and Al Jalali forts, offering a picturesque and historically significant scene.

Next, make your way to Mutrah Souq. This bustling market is one of the oldest in the Arabian Peninsula and comes alive with lights and activity at night. Stroll through the narrow, winding alleys of the souq, where you’ll find traditional Omani products like spices, frankincense, jewelry, and handicrafts. It’s a great place for photography.
