Lima: Discover Caral civilization with lunch

See the pyramids of Caral, discovered in the first half of the 20th century, the oldest in the Andes with 5,000 years old.

The Caral culture developed between 3000 and 1800 BC. C. that is, it was contemporary with other primitive civilizations such as those of Egypt, India, Sumeria, China, but unlike them it developed in complete isolation. In America, it is the oldest of the pre-Hispanic civilizations, surpassing the Olmec civilization by 1,500 years, another important civilizational focus located in Mesoamerica.
Due to its extension and monumental complexity, Caral must have undoubtedly been the head of the entire network of populations in the Supe Valley. What held the population of Caral together was presumably religion, which would be the means of social cohesion and coercion. Religion would be the conduit through which the State controlled the population, the production of goods and their circulation. This is inferred from the presence of large religious monuments (pyramids or temples) with their plazas, atriums and altars of sacred fire or hearths, where the various festivities of the ceremonial calendar were held, a symbol of their cultural identity.
