Trujillo: Chan Chan & Palaces Tours with Lunch

Enjoy the unique experience of walking through the city of Chan Chan and touring its palaces in exclusive areas, as well as visiting the temples around Chan Chan and enjoying lunch in Huanchaco.
9:00 AM We begin our tour with a visit to the Huaca Dragon, also known as the Rainbow Huaca, a 9th-century structure from the Chimú period. This temple stands out for its unique reliefs depicting rainbows and designs known as the dragon.
Next, we continue our tour with a visit to the Huaca Esmeralda, a smaller Chimú temple located on the outskirts of the city of Chan Chan, which was possibly dedicated to the sea, given the abundant marine decorations and fishing net symbols in their original state.

11:00 AM We will head to the Chan Chan Site Museum for a 30-minute visit to see a model that helps us understand the scale of Chan Chan.
From here, we will begin our tour of the city of Chan Chan, walking through its streets, avenues, and temples until we reach the main plaza, Nikan, where we will continue our visit by viewing the finest clay friezes and reliefs.

2:00 pm We will head to Huanchaco Beach to enjoy a seafood lunch and Huanchaquero ceviche. (Tourist menu included in the tour; the menu consists of 3 courses.)
Our experience continues with a visit to the traditional totora rafts, a tour of the totora reed growing area, and then the opportunity to see the rafts in action, with the option of taking a totora raft ride (ride included).

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
