Description

The best way to explore the Colca Canyon is by walking along ancestral trails, getting to know its culture, traditions, and the stunning landscapes surrounding the canyon up close.
DAY 1
Passengers will be picked up at 3 AM from their hotels in the city center. Then, we will travel to the Colca Valley and Chivay, where we will have a delicious breakfast with quinoa juice and local fruits. Afterward, we will head to the Condor Vantage Point, where we can appreciate the depth of the canyon and possibly see condors flying in their natural habitat. This will depend on the season, since from May to September, we have a 70-80% chance of seeing them. In the rainy season, it simply It depends on luck, as it's a natural event. Then we continue by transportation to the starting point of the San Miguel trek. From here, we'll have a 12- to 13-kilometer trekking route, walking along canyon trails. We'll have a break for lunch in the community of San Juan, and in the afternoon, we'll arrive in Sangalle, known as the oasis of Colca, where we'll have dinner and accommodation in cabins, and time to swim in crystal-clear pools surrounded by the canyon walls.

DAY 2

The 1,000-meter ascent from Sangalle to Cabanaconde begins at 4:30 AM. We will have breakfast at 7:30 AM, then start the return trip to visit the Yanque thermal baths, where we can regain energy and relax in the volcanic waters at an additional cost of 15 soles. We will arrive in Chivay at noon, where we will have 1 hour for optional lunch at an extra cost. We will then change transportation and start our trip from Colca to Puno at 1 PM, with stops along the route to see the Andean mountain range, volcanoes, llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. We will finish around 7:30 PM in the center of Puno, very close to the main square.
