Day 1: Cusco to Inca Trail or Quarry Trail
Start your journey in Cusco and head to the Inca Trail or Quarry Trail. Follow in the footsteps of a great lost civilization up to the Sun Gate overlooking mighty Machu Picchu. If you take the Quarry Trail, pass amazing archaeological sites, valley views, and enjoy off-the-beaten-path cultural interactions.

Day 2: Inca Trail or Quarry Trail
Get active with one of the most iconic treks in the world, soaking up gorgeously lush scenery and traveling with a small group of adventurers and local leaders and porters to help you along the way.

Day 3: Inca Trail or Quarry Trail
Continue your trek along the Inca Trail or Quarry Trail, seeing ancient ruins and mingling with locals.

Day 4: Inca Trail or Quarry Trail to Machu Picchu
Arrive at Machu Picchu, one of the magnificent Seven Wonders of the World, sitting high in the Andes mountains. After a guided tour of the site, return to Cusco.

At the time of booking, please advise whether you would like to hike the classic Inca Trail or Quarry Trail. When available, the Inca Trail will be booked as the default option. Fees may apply to changes made after the time of booking, and availability on other options cannot be guaranteed.
Inca Trail permits are sold on a request basis only. Once a deposit is paid and passport details are provided, Intrepid will endeavour to secure a permit for you. If Inca Trail permits are unavailable by the time you book, you can opt to hike the Quarry Trail instead

On day 1 you will be picked up at 5 am from Plaza Regocijo Square (next to the water fountain). If you have booked pre-trip accommodation through Intrepid, you’ll be picked up from your hotel at 5.15 am this morning. You will be transferred by an Intrepid Travel driver to the start of your trek where you will meet up with your leader.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
