We get away from the tourist routes to explore Sacsayhuaman, a majestic ceremonial fortress in harmony with its natural surroundings. We will walk through its three levels, where we will see the remains of huge towers that, in times of the Inca Empire, protected Cusco. An experienced traveler can discover details that go unnoticed by many tourists. Afterwards, we will go to the temple of Q'enqo, dedicated to the Puma, where an altar used for sacrifices in honor of the Pachamama is still preserved.
Next, we will visit Tambomachay, an outstanding example of Andean architecture, which represents one of the fundamental beliefs of their cosmovision. Here we will admire the natural springs that continue to irrigate the nearby lands.
We will end our day at Puca Pucara, a strategic military post that offers panoramic views of the valley and the city of Cusco.
