Description

Enjoy our special day-long hiking tour, perfect if you're short on time. We'll hike the original Inca Trails in a small group, arriving at Machu Picchu.
4:00 am or 6:00 am: We'll pick you up at your hotel/Airbnb in Cusco. Hop on our comfy transport and ride for 90 minutes to Ollantaytambo train station. Note: You can buy breakfast at Ollantaytambo train station.
We'll board the train to km 104, where the Inca Trail hiking trailhead is located. This one-hour train ride lets you appreciate the fascinating scenery along the sacred Vilcanota River. Note: If you're staying in Ollantaytambo or Urubamba, we also pick you up from your Inca Trail hotels. Once we reach kilometer 104, we'll get off the train and walk across the bridge over the Urubamba River to the checkpoint. We'll check our passports and Inca Trail permits, and then we'll visit Chachabamba, a charming Inca site with water channels, fountains, and more. After a brief guided tour in Chachabamba, we'll start the hike, mainly uphill for about 3.5 hours, to Wiñaywayna (always young), an impressive Inca site that was an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector, and an urban sector. After the guided tour, we'll enjoy our packed lunch. Then we'll continue our walk for another hour to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you'll get your first incredible view of Machu Picchu. After a brief stop to take photos, you'll walk another 40 minutes to the enigmatic Inca citadel of Machupicchu. Enjoy the incredible views of Machu Picchu from the Upper Terrace, which is circuit 1 of Machu Picchu, and take the classic photo views. Then we'll board the bus to the city of Aguas Calientes, where the train station is located. Enjoy some free time to grab a snack or dinner, then board the train and travel for 90 minutes to the Ollantaytambo train station. Arrive at Ollantaytambo station where our representative will be waiting for you at the exit gate. You'll then board our transport back to Cusco, arriving in the city at night where our services will end.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
