Get picked up from your hotel in Cusco and begin your journey passing through picturesque villages and breathtaking Andean landscapes until reaching Ajanaco, located at 3,500 meters above sea level, the gateway to Manu National Park.
Descend through winding roads surrounded by the spectacular cloud forest, home to lush vegetation including orchids, heliconias, bromeliads, and giant ferns. Along the route, observe fascinating bird species such as the famous Cock-of-the-rock, umbrella bird, trogons, quetzals, and oropendolas.
Throughout the experience, your guide will help you spot wildlife and capture the best photos of landscapes, birds, and nature moments in the jungle. In the afternoon, arrive at your lodge where you will spend the night immersed in nature.
Day 2: Atalaya – Machuwasi Lake – Night Walk & Nature Photography
After breakfast, take a short walk to observe birds and monkeys in their natural habitat. Then, continue by vehicle for approximately one hour to Atalaya Port, where you will board a motorized boat and navigate for about 30 minutes toward your jungle lodge.
During the journey, swim in the river and enjoy a natural mud bath experience. After lunch, visit Machuwasi Lake and explore the area on a traditional raft. Here, observe hoatzins, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras, tapirs, and many other fascinating wildlife species.
Your guide will also assist you in finding the best angles and moments to take unforgettable wildlife and landscape photographs. After dinner, embark on an exciting night walk to discover the sounds and nocturnal life of the Amazon rainforest before returning to the lodge.
Day 3: Parrot Clay Lick – Ceiba Tree – Jungle Walks & Photography
Early in the morning, navigate by boat to visit the parrot clay lick, where colorful parrots gather to feed on mineral-rich clay along the riverbank, an unforgettable natural spectacle and a perfect opportunity for photography lovers.
Afterward, return to enjoy lunch and relax before exploring the surrounding rainforest. During your walk, discover a great variety of flora and fauna, including the impressive giant Ceiba tree, one of the most iconic trees of the Amazon.
In the evening, take another night walk to observe insects, amphibians, and possibly snakes in their natural environment while capturing unique jungle moments.
Day 4: Jungle Walk – Atalaya – Cloud Forest – Cusco
After breakfast, return by boat to Atalaya and continue your journey back to Cusco by private transportation. Along the way, enjoy beautiful landscapes filled with hummingbirds, orchids, waterfalls, and stunning views of the cloud forest.
